Marthe Vandal returns with large charcoal drawings of the figure, worked and partly erased. Bodies emerge from the paper and recede into it, present as pressure and absence in equal measure.
The title states Vandal's method plainly. These are figures kept back, drawn toward visibility and then withdrawn, the charcoal holding the trace of every decision to reveal and to conceal.
