Marthe Vandal's first solo with the gallery presents large charcoal drawings in which the figure is made and unmade on the same sheet. Erasure names the method: the body drawn, rubbed back, and drawn again.
Vandal keeps every revision in view. The figures carry the ghosts of their earlier states, emerging from grounds worked dark and partly recovered, present as much through what has been removed as what remains.
