Adaeze Okonkwo's first solo with the gallery presents stitched works in raw linen, the indigo deepened toward black. Darning takes mending as its method and its meaning, the repair made visible rather than hidden away.
Okonkwo holds the needle's path in view throughout. Each stitched line is a record of attention, the cloth kept and strengthened at the very points where it had begun to give way.
